Hi there, new player here. Would appreciate some advice from high level Scientist players.

 

Which of the following Scientist, at say level 400, is better for PVE?

 

• 4141, Pure AC, compounding equips to add HP 
• 1144, Pure AC, compounding equips to add AC

By choosing 4141, am I losing a lot of survivability in exchange for only a little bit of extra damage? Is the trade-off even worth it?

I like to think of it this way. in power only AC is useful. In charm, both HP and defense are useful. so power 1 vs charm 2.

 

The difference in AC/HP/Def can be made up in ~2-3 slots of compounding, so it's not end of the world if you go either.

 

For 4141 you will definitely need at least 1 piece of equipment HP compounded while leveling, until you do you will die instantly when mobs get lucky and hit twice very quickly

 

you get a build graph reset for finishing Tapasco key quest even if you end up regretting the build.

I agree with 1144. Going the other way (4141) would mean you'd also need to have things with DP to not be one shot by the mobs. The extra HP is pointless if everything can kill you due to no DP. Some classes that have 1 in HP can get around this because they have skills (Shield of Heaven/Dark Barrier etc) but primarily they have access to shields. Lion's however, have no such option available to them. Not being able to use a shield means you don't have a reliable way of getting lots of DP. You would have to buy a cape that would offer such, along with a super peroforator gun that also offers DP (and MD) in it's stats, much like a shield. For these reasons I would recommend 1144. It makes life a lot easier, and you will get the HP+DP you need for general PvE purposes.

Also, with 1144 you get some HV, even a little more can help you dodge attacks.
